
Mrs. Shah received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Adelphi University in Garden City, NY. In addition, she holds a Master’s degree in Counseling and Guidance and a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Behavioral Science from New York University, NY. She has also obtained Certification in Hypno-Behavioral Therapy for Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy Institute. She has over fifteen years experience in the Mental Health Profession. The majority of Mrs. Shah’s experience involves working with individuals, couples and their families. Her theoretical orientation includes psychodynamic and behavioral interventions, which focus on inner conflicts and strength of individuals. She
helps people develop their capacity to overcome and/or manage
their problems. Mrs. Shah is not a physician, and cannot prescribe or provide medication. If medical treatment is needed, she will recommend a Physician or Psychiatrist to you, depending on the nature of your concerns. As a client one of your most important rights is that of confidentiality. Information obtained during therapy session will be held confidential and will not be disclosed to anyone outside of therapy without your written consent (exceptions do apply, please discuss with Mrs. Shah).
• Ask questions at any point regarding therapeutic of office
procedures. Terminate
therapy at any time; you may ask for a list of possible referral
sources. • Specify and negotiate therapeutic goals and be an active participant in your treatment
